  醫德有問題! 李文軒醫生 Very disappointed with Dr. Menelik Lee’s ability and questionable attitude towards the recent operation done to my sister… My sister recently did a body check outside and the test came back saying there was an issue with her uterus (輪狀細胞病變). Without knowing anyone, she found Dr. Menelik Lee online. However, after meeting him the nightmare begins after 1 month. The first appointment was made after the first consultation from Dr. Lee’s clinic in TST. My sister was then referred to St Teresa Hospital for an operation one weekend after, which cost over $40k in total (including hospital cost, 1 night stay and Dr. Menelik Lee’s operating cost). Apparently, there was no initial screening or checks done to the affected area (her uterus) before the operation was performed neither in Dr. Lee’s clinic nor the hospital (more details on why this is important when reading the below paragraph). Dr. Lee was only looking at the print out reports provided from the body check clinic when he performed the operation at St Teresa hospital (potentially due to the earliness appointment at 7am operation time on a Saturday). The operation was done within an hour but due to business of the hospital plus waiting for various reports my sister was not able to get out until Sunday night at 9pm – which at this point everything was still understandable. A week after when my sister went back for a follow-up consultation, the doctor mentioned that the operation failed to cut off all the bad tissues and my sister was told to do another operation within the month (she was in tears), with the cost similar to the amount mentioned above. Initially she was going to go ahead but I insisted her to ask for a second opinion. Luckily she did as the 2nd doctor that she found was way more responsible. It was bought to my sister’s attention that 1/ she should at least let the wound heal for 2 to 4 months before doing another operation, 2/ Dr Menelik Lee should do a quick scan in the affected area before operating, 3/ the operation should be done at a deeper wound so there’s no need to do another set of operation, and most importantly 4/ when the 2nd doctor was looking at the affected wound closely, it was suggested that Dr. Menelik Lee did a very bad job in the operation and was deemed as being very sloppy and careless. Furthermore, it seems like he just want to perform the whole operation again for the money, but even so, it shouldn’t have been suggested to be done so close to the previous one… These are all mentioned by the 2nd doctor. I am not sure if it was a one-off wrong decision or bad day in the office, but this affect my sister’s health physically and mentality, it should have been dealt with more carefully regardless.
