Has been really ill for a few days and was looking for a doctor who practice close to home. I made a phone call in attempt to book an appointment, however, In my opinion, the attitude of the person on the phone(I presume is the nursing staff) was absolutely despicable. The staff, who sounded as if I was unwelcome, claimed that I am not allow book an appointment on phone if I was a first time visitor. I have to be down in the clinic to register in order to book an appointment. My point to stress is that as a customer and patient, I felt rejected and not welcome. I do not understand why I cannot book an appointment advance on the phone even if I was a first time visitor. I would be happy to provide my details regarding my address and id card number on the phone. If they needed to make photocopy of my id card, I would have gave them when I arrive to the clinic later during the appointment. All I wished was to have an appointment so that I can see a doctor at some point of the day without the need of going down to the clinic and queue up for a long time after registration. I believe the registration process can be done on the phone and if the clinic requires me to provide any other hard copy documentation or ID, I could have brought them with me during the visit. This could save the doctors time and my time. I am ill, and I would rather not spend any unnecessarily time out in the community to spread gems and viruses. To summarise: 1.) No suggestion on when is the best time to come down to the clinic to avoid over crowding and unnecessarily time wasting 2.) Very unwelcome conversation on the phone and made client felt rejected and unpleasant
